Create Data Source Wizard


Introduction

This wizard guides a person through the process of creating a Data Source Name (DSN).

The Create Data Source Wizard is depicted in "Figure 01". The appearance of the wizard may vary slightly depending upon the desktop environment.

Running the Wizard

There are a number of ways to run the wizard.

 Command-line

The wizard can be invoked from the command-line as follows;

$ ODBCCreateDataSourceQ4

An alternative is to invoke it using the odbcinst command-line tool as follows;

$ odbcinst -c

Desktop

You may find that the easiest way to run the wizard is to find it within your desktop menu/icon system such as the KDE 'start' menu.
